National Theatre of Scotland and 14-18 NOW
I worked with the National Theatre of Scotland on two collaborations with 1418 NOW including we’re here because we’re here (Jeremy Deller) and Pages of the Sea (Danny Boyle)
‘we’re here because we’re here’ was a UK-wide event commissioned by 14-18 NOW, conceived and created by Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller in collaboration with Rufus Norris.
I worked as an assistant to Simon Sharkey, aiding the recruitment of the young men and in their training for the national event.
On 1 July 2016, thousands of volunteers across the UK took part in a modern memorial to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.
For Pages of The Sea, Danny Boyle invited communities to join him in marking 100 years since Armistice and the end of the First World War.
I worked with the National Theatre of Scotland to create an outreach programme for Ayrshire and recruit the team to draw the 30 x 30 metre sand portrait of Walter Tull.
