Young Blood is part theatre show, part live experiment, and explores how our communities are divided by age.
The Gaiety’s Young Theatre Company and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s Young Company worked with, and to talked to, groups of elderly people in Glasgow and Ayrshire to create an original performance. Their aim was to highlight how intergenerational conversations and activity can enlighten, inform and create a more tolerant society. Our process consisted of the two groups setting each other creative tasks and challenges and intensive rehearsal days on the lead up to productions (pictured below) which took place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the Traverse Theatre, Ayr Gaiety Theatre and the National Festival of Youth Theatre.
